Savings and Loan Program

The Savings and Loan Program is one of the core initiatives of Women’s Self Help Initiative (WSI), designed to promote financial independence among women. This program encourages members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) to develop a consistent habit of saving small amounts regularly. These collective savings are then utilized to provide internal loans to members, helping them meet personal, social, and economic needs. The program supports women in starting small businesses, improving existing livelihoods, and managing household expenses effectively. 

It reduces dependency on external money lenders and protects members from high-interest debts. WSI also facilitates access to formal banking services and guides SHGs in securing loans from financial institutions. Special focus is given to supporting income-generating activities and self-employment opportunities. Women are trained in financial discipline, record maintenance, and responsible borrowing. The program ensures transparency and accountability through proper documentation and monitoring.
